Our today’s guest is one of the most talented russian hard electronic music producers. With a full bag of tunes signed for such labels as Yellow Stripe, Future Sickness & Black Hoe, he’s just released hot two-tracker on Harder & Louder Digital. I’ve asked some questions about music, plans and stuff. Meet the Syrinx aka Alexander Lebedev:
1. When & how you started your production experience?
It was early 2009 and I’ve thought “It would be good support for my dj career, why not”. Afterwards gone to producing with all my head and already thought “Hmm, need to play it somewhere” hehe
2. Describe your own sound style briefly. Do you have any influences?
Do not consider myself to any particular genre of music, love to produce many styles of hard electronic music from 175 to 200 and more bpm. This is technoid dnb, crossbreed and hardcore-techno but everywhere you can hear my hand. Yeah, it is Cooh, Counterstrike, Current Value, Limewax, The Outside Agency, Akira, The DJ Producer and more.
3. What music do you listen in real life?
Real life, ughm, do I have a real life? I’m meloman. Just can say that very liked last performance of russian band “I’m Waiting You Last Summer“, very talented guys.
4. What to expect from Syrinx this year?
April-may it is second full vinyl on Black Hoe recordings with remixes from Freqax and Satan then Future Sickness single release, something on Othercide and Yellow Stripe recordings. Thinking about full lenght album and own sapmplepack for end of this year. This saturday i will perform in Saint Petersburg on 4 years of Basseeks events, you can listen a pre-party mix via soundcloud
5. Last year you made some collaborations with C-Netik, Brainpain. Who do you like to cooperate with in near future?
Would like to collaborate with Russian heroes such are C.A.2K, Lucio De Rimanez, Satan, Gancher & Ruin and very interesting guy from Austria – Synthakt. Maybe will done some for album.
6. Your last release “Into The Darkness / The Gold Stars & The Demons Wars” is about dark drum & bass. What do you think about near future of hard drum & bass? Is is more perspective than crossbreed?
I think that there is no more crossbreed as we heard it few years ago, it is just hard dnb with some hardcore basskick insertions. Yes, it’s more perspective.
7. Name your current TOP-5.
1. Freqax & C-Netik – Be My Victim
2. The Panacea – Found A Lover (Cooh Remix)
3. Hostage – Goat’s Head (eRRe+Hardlogik Remix)
4. Tatlum – As A Family
5. Syrinx – Returned
